Meet Dr. McElroy

Dr. Yolanda D. McElroy is registered pharmacist in the state of Louisiana with over 2 decades of retail and hospital experience.   She works as a consultant pharmacist to provide medication management services and educational seminars that cover medication-related topics in relation to patient safety, medication effectiveness, adverse events, and current local/national concerns.

Dr. McElroy has served in leadership positions throughout her professional career. These positions include serving as Pharmacist-in-Charge for a period during her tenure with Rite Aid Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy for the past 20 years at Cornerstone Hospital, a specialty hospital that focuses on patients with medically complex conditions.

Her passion to serve the community and combat the rising number of unintentional drug-related hospitalizations and deaths led to the development of MediManage Consulting, Inc. This organization is an available resource that provides medication education in various community settings.  There is a concentrated effort to decrease adverse drug-related events, increase medication adherence, and improved the overall health and quality of life for children and adults.

Dr. McElroy is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and a graduate of the University of Florida where she obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Most recently, she received a certificate of training from APHA on Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services Program and Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery. Dr. McElroy currently resides in West Monroe, Louisiana with the joys of her life, her husband Lieutenant Eric McElroy (Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office) and their two sons, Skylar and Jalen.
